July 2018

Children's Palace Learning Center would like to wish everyone a Safe and  Happy 4th of July!  Just a reminder, we will be closed on Wednesday, July 4th.

This summer we are making some changes to our playground!  These changes are positive changes and we would like some parent assistance and ideas!   We will keep you posted on what day we will be in need of  We just found out that we have received two grants!  One grant will be used to put in a garden so that the children can learn about growing our own vegetables and fruits that we can harvest and use them in our lunches or snacks.  The other grant will be to work on the preschool playground getting rid of the pea gravel; adding bike paths, a basketball pad and some artificial turf to our playground.  We did not get the full grant that we asked for so not all of the pea gravel is going away immediately but it will eventually be gone!  We are asking for some parent volunteers (Ms Nora and Ms Jayce have been asking some of you if you are able to come help out) these volunteers will be helping us to put together a playground structure, but it will be a puzzle putting it together because we can't find the pictures and instructions on how it goes together.  We will be adding a new playground where we are going to set up this new play structure!  We have lots of room to grow and expand our playground!

As some of you have been participating, Wednesday's are our fun days!  June we had Jersey day, crazy  hair day, beach day and sock day!  There will be fun day's this month as well, they are:  July 11th is Western Day, July 18th is Backwards  Day, July 25th is Hat Day and August 1st is Favorite Disney Character

With the summer months being so HOT!  Please make  sure that your child has a water bottle here at the center, but also that they have enough sunscreen.  Teachers will put sunscreen on the children just before they  go outside in the mornings as well as the afternoon.

Happy Summer and try to stay cool!
